television is now back at full force, and i’m eager to find out what will be worth watching this season.
Glee was alright last night. although i’ve always loved the concept, Glee was always disappointing with its ridiculous tangents and auto-tuned lip synchs. however, last night’s episode makes me hopeful.
like my fellow Filipinos and Filipinas everywhere, i was stoked to see Charice make an appearance. i really appreciated that her character was actually Filipina. as rare as Filipinos make appearances on TV shows, they mostly play other ethnicities. to think that some sheltered Gleek in middle America is seeing a filipino person from The Philippines, on a hit show on television, is a really great thing.
have you ever seen a starring Filipino character on TV? how about a famous (100%) Filipino actor? (i can name a decent number of halfies and quarters.)
